1) SAMRO Bursary (Music Performance Study) for 2017 / 2018

About SAMRO Foundation is a newly-registered non-profit organisation which replaces the SAMRO Endowment for the National Arts (SENA). The Foundation is the social investment and music education arm of the SAMRO (Southern African Music Rights Organisation) Group of Companies. André le Roux is its Executive General Manager, in addition to his post as Executive General Manager: Corporate Social Investment of SAMRO.

Who Can Apply For 3rd and 4th Years. The Bursaries are for full-time students who major in Music Performance Study, at a South African University, and are open to citizens of all the countries within SAMRO’s territory of operation: South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.

Value R10 000 towards tuition.

2) SAMRO Bursary (General Music Study) for 2017 / 2018

Who Can Apply For 2nd Years Only. The Bursaries are for full-time students at a South African University, who study music as a major subject and are open to citizens of all the countries within SAMRO’s territory of operation: South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.

Applicants must be registered at a South African University The Bursaries are open to citizens of all the countries within SAMRO’s territory of operation: South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland

4) SAMRO Music Awards (Composition Study) Bursary for 2017 / 2018

About Since 1981, SAMRO has offered a number of bursaries for music students. These Bursaries constitute the most substantial awards in music study in South Africa and are open to citizens of all the countries within SAMRO’s territory of operation: South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.

Who Can Apply The Bursaries are for study of Music Composition as a major subject/specialization at a South African University and are open to citizens of all the countries within SAMRO’s territory of operation: South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.

5) SAMRO (Music Education Study or Community Music Study) for 2017 / 2018

Field of study Music

Who Can Apply Bursaries are specifically for full-time students who major in Community Music Study or Music Education (including several courses such as Class Music teaching, Foundation of Music Education, Philosophy of Music Education, Instrumental and Choral methods, etc.). Please note that the following will not be considered: University Licentiates in Music Education, courses in instrumental/vocal pedagogics

6) Grahamstown Foundation Scholarships – WJB Slater Scholarship Post-graduate Bursary for 2017 / 2018

About For postgraduate study in the performing Arts, Ballet, Speech and Drama, Music and Fine Art. Candidates will be selected on academic merit, qualities of character, motivation and field of study.
