ABOUT:
The Access Trust awards financial support to full-time post-matric studying at Western Cape TVET Colleges.

  • Access Trust bursaries cannot be awarded to those who have other bursaries

2) South African Society of Music Teachers Bursary for 2017 – 2018

ABOUT:
The SASMT administers 4 types of bursaries/ scholarships for South African music study:
-The David Reunert Bursary (worth R1 500)
-The Ellie Marx Memorial Scholarship for String Instruments (worth R5 000)
-The Kathleen Irish Scholarship (worth R10 000)
-The Gladwell Scholarship (worth R12 000)

  • South African citizen
  • David Reunart Bursary: Students intending to take up music professionally, as teacher or performer.
  • Ellie Marx Memorial Scholarship: Promising students in study of stringed instruments, particularly the violin.
  • Kathleen Irish Scholarship: To support financially needy, but promising music pupils wishing to study piano at tertiary level.
  • Gladwell Scholarship: Awarded for study of serious music, instrumental, vocal or composition.

3) FAK Music Bursary for 2017 – 2018

ABOUT:
Awarded to talented music students each year.

4) Grahamstown Foundation WJB Slater Postgraduate Scholarship for 2017 – 2018

ABOUT:
For postgraduate study in the Performing Arts field: Ballet, Music, Fine Art, Speech and Drama.
Candidates will be selected on: field of study, academic merit, motivation and qualities of character.

R4 000 per annum

5) SAMRO Bursary for 2017 – 2018

ABOUT:
Since 1981, SAMRO has offered a many bursaries to music students.
These Bursaries are the largest awards in South African music study. Bursaries are available to citizens of countries within which SAMRO operates: South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Swaziland.

6) National Arts Council of SA Bursary for 2017 – 2018

ABOUT:
The NAC (National Arts Council) is a national agency in SA. It is authorised by the DAC (Department of Arts and Culture) and is responsible for the development of the creative industry in South Africa, by way of awarding financial grants to individuals students and organisations in the arts sector.
The NAC invites applicants to submit their bursary applications and project proposals once a year. An independent panel of experts (in the 7 arts disciplines) adjudicates each application and provides recommendations to NAC.
The bursaries are allocated to undergraduate students studying Arts at a recognised University/ University of Technology. Money is distributed to the relevant tertiary institutions who provide arts tuition according to NAC guidelines and criteria. Students do not apply to the NAC directly.

7) SAAWG (South African Association of Women Graduates) – Audrey Warton Henley Scholarship for 2017 – 2018

ABOUT:
Scholarship fund for Diplomas And Undergraduate Degrees (including Honours Degrees).

  • Fine Arts
  • Drama
  • Theatrical Studies

  • South African citizen
  • Female
  • Have completed Matric
  • Studying at a TVET College/ University/ University of Technology in South Africa
  • Completed at least the first year of courses in an Undergraduate diploma or degree
