4) Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education Bursary

About Through the Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (FPE) the Pharmaceutical Society promotes and administers the availability of bursaries for undergraduate study of pharmacy at recognised institutions in SA from the second year of study onwards. Postgraduate Students and Undergraduates students may apply.

About Students of British descent should apply. Preference is given to physically disabled male students.

6) Hosken Consolidated Investments Foundation Bursary

About The HCI Foundation has identified a number of areas in which it aims to make lasting and significant contributions to our society, and to this end supports education at all levels, youth development and empowerment, and sustainable projects which protect the environment. The HCI Foundation provides opportunities for education to employees of subsidiaries and associates of the HCI group, in particular through access to tertiary level education for dependents of company employees via the Foundation’s Bursary Programme.

Who Can Apply Medicine. Bursaries offered to full­time registered students under the age of 35 years, studying at any recognised university offering this course, registered with the Department of Education nationally.

Value 2/3 of the tuition fees to a maximum of R13 500 per annum, if the combined income does not exceed R15 000 per month, or % of the tuition fees, if the combined household income is R7 000 or less per month, to maximum of R15 000 per annum.

7) KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health Bursary (Medicine)

About The Provincial Administration of KwaZulu Natal offer bursaries in various medically related fields requiring degree and diploma studies. These fields are advertised on posters in clinics and hospital at various clinics and hospitals around the province and relate to fields of study / scarce skills required by the KZN Department of Health.

Who Can Apply The applicant must be from KwaZulu-Natal The applicant must have a good academic record The applicant must have proof of application/registration to a Tertiary Institution The applicant must not be in receipt of another bursary The student must not have another degree/diploma.

Value Recommendations as to the amount will be made on a sliding scale in terms of parents income as follow: R0 – R120000 (Tuition, Meals, Books, Accommodation) R121000 – R150000 (Tuition, Meals and Accommodation) R151000 – R200000 (Tuition, Accommodation, Books) R201000 – R250000 (Tuition, Accommodation) R251000 – R300000 (Tuition only).

Service Contract Once qualified, the candidates will be expected to serve their internship in the Public Service for a period which corresponds to the duration of the bursary

DO NOT go to the nearest Government Hospital to where you stay while at University, it may not be your home town. You or a family member must collect and sign for the application form. You must return the FULLY COMPLETED form to the same Hospital you collected it from.

About The Bursary aims at attracting and funding talented Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician students who have a passion for Health Care in the Retail Industry. The Bursary is available for 1st, 2nd, 3rd year and 4th year students.

9) Myrtle L Aron Bursary

About South African Speech-Language-Hearing Association (SASLHA) is a professional body set up to promote the interests of Speech-Language Therapists and Audiologists to the public. SALSHA are the administrators of the Myrtle L Aron Bursary for 2nd or 3rd year of speech pathology and audiology students.

Who Can Apply The bursary is available for students who have successfully completed their 2nd or 3rd year of a speech pathology and audiology degree. Only students studying the 3rd or 4th year curriculum of their degree will be awarded the bursary.

10) SA Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR) (Med) Bursary

About The national bursary programme of the Institute dates back to 1935. Since then our students, among them Mr. Nelson Mandela, who won a bursary worth £120 in the late 1940s, have served the country in almost every field of endeavour.
